The phonetic spelling of names (Furigana) is newly added to the items recorded in the family register. By this amendment of Act, several questions occurred to me as follows. This is why I pick up this topic.

Are there any rules in the family register for translation of Foreigner's name to Japanese name?

What will be the order of names?

In Japan, Family name comes first to register, then given name, to follow.

For foreigner's name, this rule is to follow, such as " John Lenon" becomes Lenon (Family name), John (given name).

However, the English spelled name is not allowed to register to family register. "Lenon, John" has to be translated to " レノン、ジョン" in Katakana Japanese.

.

From the above, you should consult with Judicial Scrivener(司法書士) about Japanese translated name as well, when you try to apply the Notification of set up company.
